Jharkhand: Dance with a purpose; flash mob to raise awareness about voting

Flash mobs have been a tried-and-tested technique abroad, but in India it is a new concept. In the run up to the election, a plethora of techniques is being adopted to raise awareness about voting.

In order to create awareness on voting, Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) on Friday organised a flash mob on Shubhash chowk in Ramgarh district, Jharkhand.

Apart from the flash mob, a selfie corner was also set up which attracted the people on the Chowk.

The performance mesmerized hundreds of people at the chowk which also saw traffic being stopped for about 10 minutes for the awareness programme.

The dancers also held a banner saying ‘Matdaan zarur dein!’.

The results of the Lok Sabha election 2019 will be announced on May 23. The 2019 Lok Sabha polls will be held in a seven phases from April 11 to May 19. The seven phases will cover 543 constituencies.
