Addressing a rally in Telangana, Congress president Rahul Gandhi said on Monday that only the Congress can fight the BJP and the RSS, and accused the ruling K. Chandrashekar Rao-led TRS of having a “partnership” with the BJP.
On his maiden visit to Telangana after the announcement of the election schedule, he said, “Only the Congress can fight against Narendra Modi and RSS.”
He also alleged that the TRS has a “partnership” with the BJP, as Rao never criticised the BJP-led NDA government. Therefore, voting for TRS means voting to the BJP.
Stepping up his attack, he further said that the unemployment rate was highest under Modi’s five-year regime in the last 45 years and asked people, “He (PM Modi) promised two crore jobs (every year). Has anyone of you got jobs?”

Gandhi also promised that the UPA would spend six per cent of the GDP on education, building new colleges, universities and institutions and providing scholarships, if it comes to power.
Talking about the minimum income guarantee or Nyay (Nyuntam Aay Yojna) announced by the Congress, he said, “I will not tell you lies. It is true and we will guarantee it. It’s a surgical strike against poverty. Modi did a surgical strike on the poor.”
He also accused PM Modi of benefiting 15-20 rich people and said Modi waived off their loans of worth around Rs 3.5 lakh crore in the last five year.

Telangana has 17 Lok Sabha seats and it will go to poll on April 11. The results will be announced on May 23.
