Airstrike, Mission Shakti, financial offenders and more: PM Modi in New Delhi

Date:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with supporters at the ‘Main Bhi Chowkidar’ event held on March 31 at the Talkatora Stadium in New Delhi. While addressing people at the event, PM Modi talked about various subjects including the economy of India, Balakot air strikes, Mission Shakti, financial offenders and the opposition.

Who is ‘Chowkidar’?

PM Modi began the address with redefining the meaning of ‘Chowkidar’. “Chokidaar is not an arrangement, not a uniform identity and is not tied to the doorstep. Watchman is a spirit and a feeling” PM said.

On Balakot air strikes

Modi further went on to praise the Indian Air Force on their courage while replying to a question on the strikes in Balakot.

PM also said if Pakistan accepts India’s airstrike in Balakot, it will put Islamabad in a dilemma as this admission will lead to the confirmation of the presence of terrorist camps across the border.

“Pakistan is in big trouble. If they say something happened in Balakot, it would mean that have to accept that terrorist camps were being operated from there. They keep telling the world that there is nothing here. We attacked at such a place that they cannot hide,” said Prime Minister Modi said while speaking at ‘Main Bhi Chowkidar’ programme in New Delhi.

On financial offenders

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also assured the people that the absconded money will be brought back to the country and the financial offenders will serve the jail term. “Those who have looted the country will have to return every penny” he said.

PM Modi said “Kuch log (loan defaulters and financial offenders) videsh ki adalaton mein jakar keh rahe hain ki Bharat ki jail ki sthiti aisi hai ki hum usmein reh nahi sakte. Toh ab unko mahal dain kya? Angrezon ne Gandhi ko jis jail mein rakha tha usse achhi jail thodi na dunga.” while refering to Nirav Modi and Vijay Mallya.

On Mission Shakti

While talking about Mission Shakti, PM Modi said that every Indian is proud of it and it has no relation with the upcoming election. “Only three countries had launched such a satellite before India”, he added.

Taking a dig at the opposition

Modi took the opportunity to take a dig at the opposition party saying that the Congress’ lies are ‘seasonal’ and they use them for electoral gains.

The event was organised as part of the BJP’s ‘Main Bhi Chowkidar’ campaign 10 days ahead of the Lok Sabha polls. The event took place at the Talkatora Stadium in New Delhi.

‘Main Bhi Chowkidar’ campaign was launched on March 16 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. A day after the launch, the Prime Minister, as well as a number of the BJP across the country added the prefix ‘Chowkidar’ to their Twitter handles as a mark of support to the electoral campaign.

On March 20, Prime Minister Modi had addressed over 25 lakh chowkidars from across the country via audio conference. He also launched a scathing attack on the opposition party’s ‘Chowkidar Chor Hai’ campaign.
