RaGa’s supporters did not wave Pakistani flag in Wayanad; here’s the fact check

A news clipping from Kerela is going viral on social media claiming that Rahul Gandhi’s supporters in Wayanad, Kerala are waving Pakistan’s flag.

“Rahul to fight elections in Wayanad, Kerala
Look who is celebrating in Wayanad waving Pakistan flags. Now you know why Congress selected this constituency. 👇 ” the caption read.

FACT CHECK

While investigating the claim, the first thing we noticed was the flag.
If you look closely you will that the though the flag looks similar to the Pakistani flag, it’s not the same.

The flag of Pakistan has a white stripe on one side.

Also, the clip appears to be from News18 Kerala.

When we checked their Facebook page, we found the video from where the clip was taken.

The google translation of the title read – “UDF activists in Wayanad’

The United Democratic Front (UDF) is an alliance of political parties in Kerala.

The parties in the alliance post-Kerala Legislative Assembly election, 2016 are as follows:
