After hosting the FIFA U-17 Men’s World Cup in 2017, India is now all set to host the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in 2020.
The decision to award the rights to India was taken at the FIFA council meeting in Miami, USA on Friday.

By virtue of being the hosts, India’s U-17 women’s football team will be part of the World Cup. This will be only the second time that India will play in a FIFA World Cup.
Currently, the Indian’s women’s national team is participating in the SAFF Women’s Championship in Nepal, where it began its campaign with a massive 6-0 win over Maldives on Wednesday.
Notably, India has had an unbeaten record in the SAFF championship and has lifted the trophy four times.
