EAM Sushma Swaraj raises India’s voice against terrorism at OIC

Date:

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj who is in Abu Dhabi raised India’s voice against terrorism at the Organization of Islamic Cooperation on Friday to build pressure on the countries that support terror outfits and fund them to stop doing so.

Swaraj insisted OIC to tell such nations to dismantle terror infrastructure.

“If we want to save humanity, we must tell the states who provide shelter and funding to terrorists, to dismantle the infrastructure of the terrorist camps and stop providing shelter and funding to the terror organisation based in that country,” Sushma Swaraj said in her speech as a guest of honour at the OIC foreign ministers conference.

“The fight against terrorism is not a confrontation against any religion. It cannot be,” Swaraj said quoting from holy books Quran, Guru Granth Sahib and Rig Veda, adding, “Terrorism and extremism bear different names and labels. It uses diverse causes. But in each case, it is driven by distortion of religion, and a misguided belief in its power to succeed.”
