The provisional merit list for Bihar’s Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) was released on Tuesday and surprisingly, the candidate who scored the highest marks is the namesake of Bollywood actress Sunny Leone.
According to the official release by the department, Sunny Leone is a 27-year-old single woman with five years of work experience. Her father is Leona Leone and she belongs to the unreserved category. The applicant has obtained 73.50 points based on her academic record and full marks of 25 points based on her experience. The total of the two makes her top the merit list with a score of 98.50.

Opposition leader Tejashwi Yadav mounted a sharp attack on Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and his government’s education policy. Yadav alleged that the state government followed a policy of ‘farzi topper banao, farzi naukri pao (make fake toppers, get fake job).’
Joint Secretary, PHED, Ashok Kumar said, ‘This is a mischief done by someone. The list has been uploaded as it is based on the data received by the candidates. Whoever filled their name, fathers’ name and other details in the application form, the list shows the same as is and no data has been entered by the department.’
When the matter was brought to the notice of PHED minister Vinod Narayan Jha, he clarified that this is not the final list. Those whose names figure will have to undergo a screening process which would include verification of their documents and certificates.
Meanwhile, the entire incident has caught the attention of Bollywood actress Sunny Leone who took to Twitter in order to congratulate her namesake.

The list of 17,911 duly registered candidates has more bizarreness to offer. The second-ranking Nirmal Chakraborty’s father’s name is Om Puri. While another candidate named, ‘bvcxzbnnb’, has made it to the top third rank of the list.
The department has given a window to candidates to correct the information provided in their application till February 24.
