New Delhi: A day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched India’s fastest train, Vande Bharat Express broke down on Saturday morning while returning from Varanasi after its first run.
Also known as Train 18, broke down about 200 km from the capital.
According to reports, the controls have failed and the snag is ‘unfixable’ for now. They say even if they repair the controls right now, the train cannot cross speeds of 40 km per hour. It has also run out of the water.
Meanwhile, the people on board, including journalists, have been shifted to two other trains.
The indigenously-built train ‘semi-high speed’ train with a top speed of 180 km per hour, had touched speeds of 130 km per on hour, on its inaugural run on Friday.
