On the last day of Parliament before E2019, Sonia Gandhi attacks govt

Date:

On the last day of the parliament for the current Lok Sabha, Congress leader Sonia Gandhi launched an attack at the government on Wednesday.

“Bluff, bluster and intimidation have been the governance philosophy of the Modi government,” said Sonia Gandhi at Congress Parliamentary Party’s general body meeting.

“Last five years have been a time of unprecedented economic stress and social strain,” she said.

Congress President Rahul Gandhi also addressed the meeting before the last Lok Sabha session began. “Congress Party is defeating the BJP in an ideological fight as also the daily discourse. Congress is the only party that speaks for the entire country as a united entity.”

“Unemployment, Demo Scam & Rafale corruption have undermined Modi Govt’s credibility,” he added.

The mother-son duo then joined the protesting TMC and TDP parliamentarians outside the Sansad Bhawan.

Rahul Gandhi is also scheduled to address the media on the Rafale deal later today. He has been targeting the government alleging irregularities in the aircraft deal to the advantage of Anil Ambani-owned Reliance Defense. The BJP and the Reliance have denied any wrong doing in the purchase of Rafale aircraft for the Indian Air Force.

The government also tabled the report of the Comptroller Auditor General (CAG) on the floor of the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday morning.
