The battle for Lok Sabha election 2019 will be no less than a political Mahabharata as leaders of both national parties – Congress and the BJP – descend on Uttar Pradesh on Monday.
While Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to be Vrindavan, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, will kick-start Priyanka’s formal entry into the grand old party in Lucknow.
Modi is visiting Varanasi to mark the serving of the 3rd billionth meal by the Akshaya Patra Foundation.
Meanwhile, preparations have been made in Lucknow to welcome the newly appointed Congress General Secretary for Uttar Pradesh (UP) East, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, General Secretary for UP-West Jyotiraditya Scindia and Congress President Rahul Gandhi.
This will be Priyanka’s first visit after being appointed as the general secretary.
According to reports, the leaders are expected to carry out a 12-kilometre long road show. Senior Congress leader KC Venugopal, on Thursday, informed that after the road show the leaders are expected to interact with the party workers at the Congress office in the city.
Prior to this rally, Priyanka sent an audio message to the voters in UP on Sunday, saying that “I am coming to Lucknow to meet all of you. Hope that we all will start a new politics together. A politics in which you all are partners. My young friends, my sisters and the weakest person, everyone will hear the voice. Come together, to build this new politics.”
