Arvind Kejriwal receives email threat for daughter; Harshita gets security

Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal, On Wednesday, received an anonymous email threatening to harm and kidnap his daughter.

“We will kidnap your daughter. Do what you can to protect her,” the email read, according to the police.

After the Aam Aadmi Party leader lodged an official complaint, an investigation has started. Delhi Police has assigned Harshita Kejriwal a Protective Service Officer (PSO). The cyber cell is now looking into the matter.

A Delhi Police official told PTI that an email was received and said it has been handed over to the Cyber Cell of the Special Cell, which is analysing it and trying to ascertain the IP address from which the email originated.

Kejriwal and his wife Sunita have two children Harshita, and her younger brother, Pulkit. Harshita cleared the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) entrance test in 2014. She is pursuing an engineering course at IIT, Delhi.
