Indian cricketers Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul, on Wednesday, were issued show cause notices by BCCI for their comments on women that sparked an outrage among the audience and could prompt the Board to bar players from such appearances, as per reports.
“We have sent show cause notices to Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul for their comments. They have been given 24 hours to give an explanation,” said Chairman of the Committee of Administrators that runs the BCCI, Vinod Rai.
The cricketers had talked about everything from the sport to his dating life. In the episode, he had made a few misogynistic comments that have since landed him in hot water. Now, Pandya has decided to break his silence on the matter.
Taking to Twitter, Pandya shared a tweet where he said he carefully reflected on his comments that he would like to apologise to anyone who he has hurt in any way. He added that he had honestly gotten a bit carried away and said that he did not mean to hurt anyone’s sentiments in any way.

When asked why he didn’t ask the names of women in clubs, Pandya responded by saying, “I like to watch and observe how they (women) move. I’m little from the black side so I need to see how they move.”
“It will be considered whether players should even be allowed to appear on such shows which have got nothing to do with cricket,” a BCCI source told PTI.
Pandya had joined the Indian team before the Boxing Day Test in Melbourne after recovering from a back injury which he had suffered during the Asia Cup in UAE in 2018.
The popular talk show has featured celebrities like Aamir Khan, Deepika Padukone, Saif Ali Khan, Ajay Devgn and Kajol, etc. in this season.
