J&K: Six terrorists, including close aide of Zakir Musa, killed in an encounter

Six terrorists were killed in an encounter with security forces in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Saturday.

An aide of Zakir Musa, one of Kashmir’s most wanted terrorist along with was also gunned down in the encounter.

The police had launched a cordon and search operation in the in Arampora village in Awantipora area on Saturday morning after receiving information on the presence of terrorists. During the search, the terrorists opened fire on the police.

The police recovered arms and ammunition from the terrorist and there was no collateral damage during the encounter, police said in a statement.

The slain terrorists have been identified as Soliha Akhoon, a resident of Arampora Tral, Faisal resident of Amlar, Nadeem Sofi, a resident of Batagund Tral, Rasiq Mir, a resident of Dadsara Tral, Rouf and Umar both residents of Dadsara Tral.

They belong to Zakir Musa’s terror outfit Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind – a cell of Al-Qaeda operating in the Kashmir valley.
