Government reshuffles key bureaucrats

After bureaucratic reshuffle in Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh, the central government, on Thursday, also effected a major bureaucratic reshuffle.

Inder Jit Singh, who was the secretary, Ministry of Coal has been appointed as the secretary, Ministry of North East. The 1985 batch IAS Officer will succeed Navin Verma who is retiring in February next year.

Madhulika P. Sukul will take charge as the new Secretary, Central Information Commission (CIC). Presently, she is Financial Adviser (Defence Services), Ministry of Defence. Earlier, in September, Anita Bhatnagar Jain was appointed to this post which stands cancelled.

Gargi Kaul is the new financial adviser in the ministry of defence. Presently, Kaul is AS&FA, Ministry of Civil Aviation

Other key bureaucrats with new appointments are –

P N Sukul (IDAS:1982) –  Appointed as the Secretary, National Commission for Minorities. He will succeed J Rama Krishna Rao (IAS:1985:BH) whose term ends in February 2019.

D V Prasad (IAS:1984:KN)- appointed as the CMD, FCI in the rank and pay of Secretary. He replaces Yogendra Tripathy (IAS:1985:KN) who has been appointed as Secretary, Ministry of Tourism in December.

Sushil Kumar (IAS:1987:TR)-  appointed Additional Secretary, Department of Agricultural Research and Education.

Alka Tiwari (IAS:1988:JH)-  appointed AS&FA, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers. She is currently serving as Additional Secretary, Department of Fertilizers.

Arun Kumar (IAS:1989:HY)-  appointed AS&FA, Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA).

Atul Kumar Tiwari (IAS:1990:KN)- appointed Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting by temporarily downgrading the post of Additional Secretary in I&B. Currently, Atul Kumar Tiwari is Joint Secretary, Ministry of Textiles.

Vivek Joshi (IAS:1989:HY)-  appointed as Registrar General and Census Commissioner under Ministry of Home Affairs in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary.
