Catriona Gray from Phillipines won the crown of the Miss Universe 2018 yesterday after beating contestant of 93 countries. The 24-year-old beauty pageant is the fourth Filipina to win the title and beat Miss South Africa Tamaryn Green, the first runner-up, and Miss Venezuala Sthefany Gutiérrez, the second runner-up.
The panel of judges comprised an all-female panel that included the Colombian-American CEO Liliana Gil Valletta, Janaye Ingram, Monique Lhuillier, a fashion designer, former Miss Universe winners Michelle McLean and Bui Simon, Iman Oubou, and Richelle Singson-Michael.

The contest was held at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand and was hosted by Steve Harley and Ashley Graham. A special power-packed performance was seen by Ne-Yo. Steve Harvey hosted the last year’s Miss Universe contest as well.

Catriona is an Australian-Filipina who was born in Australia and competed her education from the Berklee College of Music in Boston in Massachusetts.
