The third day of the India and Australia Test saw Indian skipper Virat Kohli score his 1000 test runs in Australia. He is fourth India to achieve this after Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid and V V S Laxman.
India led Australia by over 100 runs. The match was initially delayed by 45 minutes as the rain kept interrupting the match at the Adelaide Oval.

Ravichandran Ashwin led the attack of India bowlers as he ended with figures of 3/50.
Bumrah and Ashwin both grabbed 2 wickets each.
Australia struggled to reach 250, set by India after being bowled out on the second day of the test. The host is trailed by 59 runs with 3 first innings wickets in hand.
Travis Head, the unbeatable star of day 2 is still at the pitch with 61 runs.
