National Green Tribunal (NGT) on Monday imposed a fine of Rs 25 crore on AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal-led Delhi government for failing to curb the rising pollution in the national capital.
Recently, Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir has hit out at the AAP government and BJP party on Twitter, stating that the Rs 25 crore fine will be paid by him and other tax-payers in Delhi.

The monetary penalty is required to be deducted from the salaries of Delhi government officials and people polluting the environment.

Capital’s air quality index (AQI) has been oscillating between ‘severe’ and ‘beyond severe’ in the past week which raises concern in the Delhi-NCR. According to the Centre-run System of Air Quality and Weather forecasting And Research(SAFAR), the Air Quality Index of the capital in the morning was recorded 346 falling in the ‘very poor’ category.
