While Harmanpreet Singh and Simranjeet Singh were the scorers for India, Belgium had Alexander Hendrickx and Simon Gougnard to thank for staying in hunt of a direct quarter-final berth.
The draw, however, enabled world no. 5 India to take the top spot in Pool C ahead of Belgium on goal difference. Both teams have a win and a draw from two outings.
India had scored five past South Africa in their opener while Belgium had scraped through a 2-1 win over Canada in their first match.
