This is what Samsung’s foldable smartphone will cost you

Date:

Samsung created a buzz soon after the South Korean tech giant confirmed its first ever foldable smartphone.

If reports are to be believed, the tech genius smartphone is expected to be launched in March, along with 5G-enabled Galaxy S10. But one will have to spend a high price to get the foldable smartphone in hands.

According to South Korea’s Yonhap news agency, Samsung plans to unveil its flagship Galaxy S10 in February, and a month later the foldable smartphone – expected to be called the Galaxy F – in March.

The report adds that the price of the foldable smartphone is yet to be decided by Samsung, but rumours claim that it can be expected to cost around KRW 2 million (roughly $1,770 or Rs. 1,29,100).

This information was rumoured after Samsung Electronics President Koh Dong-jin, who heads the mobile business, said last week that the company will release a foldable smartphone within the first half of 2019. Koh said the shipment volume of the foldable smartphone will be at least 1 million.

Yonhap also claims that Samsung is expected to showcase the one of its kind foldable smartphone in the Mobile World Congress in February, ahead of the official launch in March.
