Pregnant woman killed in train for allegedly objecting to smoking

Uttar Pradesh: In a horrendous incident, on Friday,  a pregnant woman was allegedly strangled to death by her co-passengers in Jallianwala Express when she objected them for smoking.

The women, Chinat Devi (45), was travelling along with her son and daughter-in-law in the general compartment of Punjab-Bihar Jallianwala Express.

When she objected co-passenger, identified as Sonu Yadav, for smoking, he attacked her after a heated argument, informed GRP police station In-charge, Shahjahanpur, AK Pandey.

The train was stopped at Shahajanpur station and Chinat was rushed to the hospital where she was declared dead. The body has been sent for post-mortem, Pandey said.

Chinat Devi and her family were en route to Bihar for Chatt puja.

Accused Sonu Yadav who belong to Azamgarh in eastern UP was arrested.
