Three-day Tango festival starts today in Mumbai

The three-day Tango music festival, Viva Tango Milonga is set to open its doors from November 11 that is today in Mumbai. It is a multi-venue music festival organised by the Consulate General of Argentina. The highlights of the festival will be the Indian premiere of Misatango composed by popular Tango music composer Martin Palmeri along with performances by Dario Bolonara.

The event will begin at 7.00 PM on November 11 in Lower Parel at High Street Phoenix. The event will include Bolonara playing the traditional Tango instrument called bandoneon, while Martin presents a type of Argentinian music called Milonga along with local tango dance performances. The program will also showcase the SOI playing the compositions of Astor Piazzolla, the assumed popular composer of tango music.

On November 12, Palmeri and the Symphony Orchestra of India Chamber Orchestra will perform the Misatango. This event will take place at the Prithvi Theatre. The festival will conclude on November 13 at the National Centre for Performing Arts.
