Around 1.4 lakh cameras will be purchased and installed across the city. The first camera will be installed in the first two weeks of November.
Installation of cameras will be decided at the general body meetings of the RWAs and market associations in the presence of police and the installation agency. The recordings will be given to the RWAs, police and the government.
The installation of cameras was one of the important promises of AAP government when it was elected. The lowest bidder they have opted is Bharat Electronics Limited, a public sector undertaking. This will help the government to implement the project.
