Ferrari launched the Portofino in India on Friday, at a price tag of Rs 3.5 crore (ex-showroom, without options). The convertible is a 2+2 GT car and is Ferrari’s new entry-level model.

The Portofino carries the same heart as its predecessor, the California T – a 3.9 litre twin-turbo V8 engine – but churns out 600 hp at 7, 500 rpm and 760Nm torque at 5,250 rpm. The Portofino sprints from a 0-100 kmph in 3.5 seconds and claims a top speed of which is more than 320kph.
The Portofino has shed 80 kg off its body with a lighter aluminum chassis and thinner cabin seats for more space and lighter weight. It is the first GT to have an Electric Power Steering (EPS).The newcomer has a zero turbo lag and has a seven-speed dual clutch automatic gearbox.

The interiors of the new prancing horse have been given some changes with features like the new 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, 18-way electrically adjustable seats and an optional 8.8-inch touchscreen for the passenger.
The roof is a metal-folding unit that opens and closes in 14 seconds at speed of up to 40 kmph. Ferrari has added a manually retractable wind deflector to contain the turbulence in the cabin when the top is down.

The Ferrari Portofino is all set to take on its arch rival- the Lamborghini Huracan Spyder. It will also give a competition to the Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet and the Audi R8 Spyder in the market.
