Real Madrid President Florentino Perez has described Portuguese striker Cristiano Ronaldo as the worthy successor of former Argentinian footballer Alfredo Di Stefano, who is best known for his achievements with the club.
Thanking Ronaldo for his contributions to the club, Perez stated that Ronaldo’s stand-out figures with the team would be told from generation to generation.
“(Cristiano) is one of the key figures as he is the top scorer in the history of the club and worthy successor to Di Stefano,” Marca.com quoted Perez, as saying.
“He is a stand-out figure and his legend will be told from generation to generation. An example for everyone who wears this shirt. Thank you, Cristiano.”

Perez also talked highly of former Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane and said that the club would always be a home for both Zidane and Ronaldo.
“(Zidane) is another of our all-time references. As a coach, he has entered history as one of the greatest at Real Madrid.”
“He is one of our biggest legends and he along with Cristiano know that this will always be his home.”
Ronaldo had left Real Madrid in July this year to join Italian club Juventus, in a deal that cost over 100 million Euros. Meanwhile, Zidane had stepped down as the head coach of the Santiago Bernabeu team in May 2018 saying that the club needs a “different methodology”.
