The Asian Games silver medallist made a comeback and went onto win a 26-shot rally which gave her an edge in the game. Yufei, however, looked clueless as Sindhu dominated 21-11 win in the second game.

In the deciding game, world number two opened with a lead of 2 points but could not maintain the same, and eventually lost the game by 15-21.

Earlier today, in the men’s singles event, Kidambi Srikanth also lost his quarter-final battle 9-21, 11-21 against Japanese shuttler Kento Momota. With both Srikanth and Sindhu out, Indian campaign in the China Open also came to an end.
