After planning election strategy first for PM Narendra Modi then for his rivals, Prashant Kishor has joined politics on Sunday. The 41-year-old was inducted in JD(U) by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.

“I have been wanting to get out of this domain (strategising electioneering) for two years. It could have been after the results of Uttar Pradesh elections, but the failure put the decision on hold…You will not see Prashant Kishor campaigning for any party or individual in 2019,” Kishor had said at the ISB Hyderabad Leadership summit held recently.
In political circles, Prashant Kishor came to be known as Chanakya of Nitish Kumar and their association has continued even after Mr Kumar joined hands with the BJP.

Kishor, started his career in 2012 and has been working closely with Narendra Modi, then Gujarat Chief Minister, after he made his campaign for the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. But after the elections, differences cropped up between him and BJP chief Amit Shah and he decided to go his own way. Over the next few years, he worked for political rivals of the BJP, not just Nitish Kumar but also the Congress.
