Three terrorists of Jaish-e-Mohammed were killed and 12 security personnel were injured in an encounter in Kakriyal area in Jammu, a day after they fired on a police party and escaped, IGP Jammu, SD Singh Jamwal said.

The operation has been concluded. Drones and choppers were also used in the operation. according to reports, a large number of locals and journalists had to take cover behind bushes and plants to save themselves from crossfire.

Out of the injured personnel, five are CRPF personnel and three belong to J&K police. They have been admitted to the Narayana hospital in Katra.
One AK-56, loaded magazines, one Chinese Pistol, and other incriminating material have also been recovered from the site.
Earlier on Thursday, two terrorists were killed in Baramulla’s Sopore after a gun battle broke out between the terrorist and the security forces. Following which the internet services have been suspended in the area.
