Markets end in the green after six days; rupee breaches 72 against the dollar

The stock market ended in the green after six days, while the crossed the 72 mark against the dollar in morning trade amid concerns that US President Donald Trump could order additional tariffs on China. In global markets, shares fell for a fifth straight day as investors braced for another escalation in a trade war between US and China, while emerging-market currencies paused near 15-month lows.

Sensex ended 224.50 points higher at 38242.81, while the Nifty closed 59.90 up points at 11536.90.
