Sensex, Nifty end the week on a high note at 37,947.88 and 11,470.75 respectively

The Sensex and Nifty ended the week on a high note. The 30-share Sensex closed 284.32 points up at 37,947.88, on Friday, while the Nifty 50 ended 85.70 points higher at 11,470.75.

In intraday trade, the Sensex surged 358.76 points to 38,022.32 and the Nifty 50 jumped 101.4 points to 11,486.45. All the sectoral indices on BSE, except oil and gas, ended with gains led by basic materials, FMCG, metal, bankex and healthcare.
