In what could be a proud moment for the country, two women pilots named Aarohi Pandit and Keithair Misquitta flew from Bhuj to Karachi on Wednesday in the first leg of their ambitious flight around the world.

Misquitta, 24, and Pandit, 22, who has been trained in Patiala Aviation Club were selected by Navy Blue Foundation, organiser and fund-raiser for the expedition.

India’s High Commissioner to Pakistan Ajay Bisaria tweeted and congratulated them by writing an inspiring message at the end of his tweet saying ‘Beti Padao, Beti Bachao’.

On July 30th, two of them started from Patiala and their journey was to cover three continents and 23 countries around the world. The motive of their journey is to promote woman empowerment and to save the girl child.
