The decision came after the national coach Vijay Sharma recommended that the commonwealth medalist should pull off from the Jakarta event starting from August 18 as she is not fit to be in the games.
Mirabai even went to Mumbai for the checkup but felt discomfort again so the national coach thought that she should pull out to avoid aggravating the injury ahead of the Olympic qualifiers.

“The Olympic qualifiers event is approaching and that is more important than the Asian Games,” Sharma had said. Mirabai Chanu’s absence from the Asian Games will be a major setback for India.
