‘Bhansali could not get my Khilji’ Aishwarya Rai on working in Padmaavat

Fanney Khan’s actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, once again proved that she is a versatile actress. The actress last worked with Sanjay Leela Bhansali in Guru which was with her husband, Abhishek Bachchan, but the two have worked earlier in ‘Devdaas’, ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’.

Bhansali had initially thought of taking Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai for ‘Baajirao Mastani’, but the strained relationship between the two was the reason for not going ahead with it. In a recent interview with a web portal, when Aishwarya was asked as to when she will be working again with Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the actress said that he had even approached her for ‘Padmaavat’, but he could not get her his Khilji.

She said that at the end of the day it is all about casting so when Bhansali could not get a Khilji for her, she could not end up doing the movie. Bhansali too had said in an interview that Aishwarya will now and forever be his muse. ‘Padmaavat’ finally went to Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone along with Shahid Kapoor. After, much controversy surrounding the film, it was released in January this year.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was last seen in ‘Fanney Khan’ which is a remake of Hollywood movie ‘Everybody’s Famous’. The film that released on August 3 also stars Anil Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao.
