How my son became a terrorist: Osama Bin Laden’s mom reveals

Osama Bin Laden’s mother whose home in Jeddah is decorated with the pictures of her son spoke out for the first time after the 9/11 incident about her son as reported by The Sun. Osama’s mother doesn’t blame her son for the 9/11 attacks and said that he was a very ‘good kid’.

The Laden family still remains one of Saudi Arabia’s richest dynasties. Her mansion includes a center staircase which leads to rooms on its sides. Speaking with The Guardian Osama’s mother said that he was a very good son who loved his mother very much.

She remembers and says that in his 20s, Osama was a really shy and pious boy but the King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah brainwashed her son, she blames. “The people at university changed him. He became a different man. He was a very good child until he met some people who pretty much brainwashed him in his early 20s. They got money for their cause. I would always tell him to stay away from them, and he would never admit to me what he was doing because he loved me so much.” she said.

Ghanem claims it “never crossed my mind” that her son would become a jihadist killer. He even fled to Afghanistan to fight the Russians, his family felt proud but never knew he would become a Jihadist killer.

Osama’s half brother also said: “Instead, she (mother) blames those around him. She only knows the good boy side, the side we all saw. She never got to know the jihadist side.” Ahmed, his half-brother said that within 48 hours all the family got to know that Osama was behind the attacks of 9/11 and from the younger to the eldest everyone was ashamed.
