It seems the Royal Guards of Windsor are not the mental giants they seem to have a reputation for being. In a video that has gone viral, the guard a par of the Queens Guard shoved a female tourist out of the way, when she was taking pictures. The tourist seemingly was on the wrong side of a roped off area. The guard almost barged into her, nearly pushing her to the floor.
While this may be extremely shocking, many can consider it standard procedure as the Queen’s Guard have certain protocols. England’s Ministry of Defence did not confirm exactly when the event took place but stated
‘The Household Division is proud to guard Her Majesty and honoured that people come from around the world to watch our ceremonial spectacle.
“The ropes are there to protect both the public and our soldiers; please stay behind them.’
Raising a rifle is considered a final warning and they may even detain the individual in question.
The Queen’s Guard are known for their distinctive uniforms of red tunics and bearskin hats.
The units, manned by fully-trained, serving soldiers, have more than 350 years of history and have defended monarchs since Charles II took the throne after the English Restoration in 1660.
The Guards consist of five infantry regiments — the Grenadier, Coldstream, Scots, Irish and Welsh Guards — and two regiments of the Household Cavalry — the Life Guards and Blues and Royals. Most of the Guards will have seen action overseas.
