‘These incidents are given unnecessary importance,’ says Adityanath downplaying lynching

Date:

New Delhi: Days after another shocking incident of mob lynching in Rajasthan’s Alwar, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath sparked a controversy after downplaying lynching incidents.

Yogi Adityanath reportedly said, “these incidents are given unnecessary importance.”

“These incidents are given unnecessary importance. If you talk about mob lynching, what was 1984? Law and order is a matter of state. Congress’ intention to make mountain out of a molehill won’t be successful,” Adityanath said on mob lynching.

As per the Ministry of Home Affairs data, 45 people were killed in 40 different cases across nine states between 2014 and 3 March this year.

Yogi Adityanath also reacted on Rahul Gandhi’s hug to PM Modi and dubbed the gesture “childish”.

“The entire nation has already rejected Rahul Gandhi’s childish acts. The no-confidence motion has exposed Congress. The statements & acts of opposition during the motion were immature & reveal their actual personalit,” Yogi Adityanath said.
