Indian-origin World Bank economist breathes her last at Bali beach

An Indian origin economist who was working with World Bank died on Saturday in Bali. The death happened by drowning in the Bali beach while swimming in the sea.

The girl named Akansha Pandey, aged 37 years, was on a vacation with her husband and was swimming at the Double Six Beach and within a fraction of a second a strong currents came and pulled her away from the shore, according the reports by the police.

She was a citizen of the US and was working as the Senior Health Economist at the World Bank and her countries to focus were Middle East and North Africa.

Although, the lifeguards tried to save her and took her to Siloam Hospital, by the time she reached the hospital, she was dead.

She had been warned twice before the incident by the lifeguards about her safety as the area where she was swimming was prohibited for the same.

One of the Bali police officials confirmed Akansha’s demise and reported the entire incident and also confirmed that there were no traces of violence found on the victim’s body.
