Flying business class in Air India? Take care, don’t let the bed bugs bite

Date:

A passenger travelling by Air India from Newark to Mumbai was infested by bed bugs in last week. This was not it as another passenger travelling with her three kids in business class also fell prey to the bed bugs in the same flight.

Traveller named Saumya Shetty said that she was travelling in the business class only for the comfort with her kids, however, the comfortable journey turned out to be a nightmare for her and her children.

She posted an image on her Twitter handle of her arm after the bug bite.

She has developed rashes all over her body just like her arm that can be seen in her picture, and according to her tweet, even after repeatedly complaining about it to the flight crew, she was left to battle with the bugs on her own and on asking the crew to change the seat she was not assisted. She had to sit through the flight on the same seat for one entire night till she landed.

According to the sources, a baby was also bitten by the bed bugs which agitated and angered the passengers on-board, that eventually resulted in a delay in the flight reaching Delhi.

Another passenger Pravin Tonsekar was infested by bugs in the business class of Air India. He was travelling with his wife and daughters and all of them suffered the same torture.

The flight had almost 200 passengers on-board and the aircraft was taken to the parking bay of the airport where it was fumigated and the entire process took over six hours.
