Bureaucratic reshuffle in West Bengal

Kolkata: In a bureaucratic reshuffle, West Bengal government brought in Rajiva Sinha as the new assistant chief secretary (ACS) of the health and family welfare department replacing Anil Verma.

Verma was transferred to the Animal Resources Development Department, a notification issued by the state finance department said.

Among the other IAS officials transferred, Alapan Bandopadhyay was made the new ACS of the Micro Small and Medium Enterprise and Textiles department.

BP Gopalika would take up the responsibility of the transport department which was looked after by Bandopadhyay, it said.

Gorkhaland Territorial Administration (GTA) Principal Secretary Subrata Biswas was moved to the department of the Mass Education extension and library services.

Choten Dhendup Lama, secretary of Self Help Group (SHG) and Self Employment (SE) department, replaced Biswas in the GTA, the notification said.

Anoop Kumar Aggarwal, principal secretary of the mass education extension and library services department, was shifted to the SHG and SE department.

Ajit Ranjan Bardhan was entrusted with an additional charge of the state mission director and CEO of State Rural Livelihoods Mission in addition to his normal duties as the principal secretary of the state Panchayat and Rural Development Department, the order said.
