Sensex reclaims 36,000; Nifty closes at 10,947

BSE Sensex surged 304.90 points to close at 36,239.62, on Tuesday, while the Nifty 50 ended 94.35 points up at 10,947.25 led by gains in IT, auto, PSU banks ahead of key quarterly results scheduled later in the day. All sectoral indices ended in the green.

The Sensex had gained 276 points on Monday, indicating that the markets have moved on from the trade war fears and are looking forward to corporate earnings. Oil prices rose by more than $1 dollar per barrel due to growing global supply outages. The Indian rupee inched down against the US dollar ahead of key consumer price inflation data.
