Kashmiri separatist Asiya Andrabi sent to 10-day NIA custody

New Delhi: Dukhtaran-e-Milat chief Asiya Andrabi and two others were sent to 10-day National Investigative Agency (NIA) custody by a Delhi court on Friday in connection with two separate cases registered against them.

The NIA stated in the court that the investigation conducted so far has revealed that Asiya Andrabi, Sofi Fehmeeda, and Nahida Nasreen are involved in conspiracy and acts to severely destabilise the sovereignty and integrity of India.

During the investigation, the several mobiles numbers used by members of Dukhtaran-e-Millat were also collected and analysed.

The mobile details also revealed that they are in regular contact with their associates in Pakistan and involved in anti-India activities.

The NIA further informed the court that the arrested Dukhtaran-e-Millat members were running a concerted campaign on social media to solicit the support of Pakistani establishment which inter-alia includes arranging support from terrorist entities from Pakistan.

Asiya and two other Kashmiri separatists were produced before the court amidst tight security.

The case was registered against the three as well as the organisation, which was banned under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967, in April this year.

Andrabi and her associates were lodged in Srinagar after the Jammu and Kashmir High Court cancelled her bail last month.

All three of them were brought here for the proceedings.
