New Delhi: Actor-turned-politician Kamal Haasan on Wednesday met with Congress President Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi. When asked about the agenda of the meeting, the Haasan said, “it was a courtesy meeting as I had promised to meet him. I also met with Priyanka Gandhi.”
“We also had an informal chat on political scenario. We didn’t discuss any alliance or election now,” Haasan added.
When he was asked about his take on BJP observing black day on June 26, Haasan said, “Congress will comment better, not me.”
Taking to Twitter, Rahul Gandhi said he and Haasan discussed a wide range of issues concerning our two parties, including the political situation in Tamil Nadu.

Earlier in the day, Kamal Haasan met Election Commission officials to formally register his party.
After the meeting, the actor-turned-politician told reporters he expected his party, which was launched in February, would get registered soon.
“I came here for a formal meeting. They (EC) asked certain questions. They are not having any major objections”, he said.
To a query, 63-year-old Haasan said the poll panel officials told him that his party’s registration would be done soon. He, however, said the EC officials did not specify any time frame for it.
Asked about the party’s symbol, he said there has been no decision on it yet and the issue will be first discussed within the party before approaching the EC.
