Normally, naming a child is a quiet and private affair in India, but a couple in Maharashtra did it in a completely different way. Mithun and Mansi Bang held elections in the city to keep their newborn baby boy’s name for the public to decide.
On June 15, the elections took place with complete pomp and show that include banners, hoardings and ballot boxes in which name options were given. There were three names – Yaksha, Yovit and Yuvaan between which the decision had to be made. The final name that got maximum votes was Yuvan.
Mithun said that the name keeping ceremony began with the kundli and as per the kundli, the baby is supposed to be a political leader in future. So, they thought of this idea for him to cherish it after 15 years down the line. Even the relatives went back with fond memories of the name keeping ceremony of their nephew.
