Delhi University results are likely to be declared tonight, the cut-offs will be much higher this time and this time five cutoff lists after the fifth cutoff list there will be a centralises counselling list where the university will try to fill the vacant seats.

The competitions will be stiff this year for arts and commerce, as Khalsa saw high cutoffs in the last year also 99% in BA (Hons) political science, 98.75% in English, 98.25% in economics and 98% for chemistry, physics, computer science and BCom (Hons).
“Most colleges come out with very high cutoffs in the first list as they want to assess the demand for their courses. By the second list, however, the cutoffs are lowered, albeit marginally. This is done to avoid over-admission and to get the best of the lot. But usually, subjects like English and BA programme will have higher cutoffs as the number of applications is high,” a DU official said.

St Stephens has already taken out the first cutoff list as it’s admission procedure is different and it releases it’s first cutoff earlier than most of the colleges.
