The Maharashtra Government has included “Chacha Chaudhary and Narendra Modi” as a recommended supplementary reading material for students to read in their leisure time.
These books were brought under the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) and will be kept in school libraries. The book is mostly having its content in pictorial form. It has pictures of PM Modi and the legendary “Pran comics” character Chacha Chaudhary where Chacha is shown creating awareness and promoting the union government under the leadership of PM Modi. These books are priced at Rs 35.

The Maharashtra government had reportedly taken a decision to buy books worth Rs 59.42 lakh under the SSA as a supplementary reading material for students which include the books on Chacha Chaudhary and Modi series.
The NCP has accused this marketing strategy by the party of promoting PM Modi in the educational curriculum. NCP leader Supriya Sule appealed BJP to leave the country’s education system out of its campaign strategy.
