New Delhi: BCCI has announced India’s ODI and T20 squad against Ireland and England. The series will commence from 27th June and the first T20 to be played in Dublin, Ireland.
The fixture will consist of two T20s against Ireland and three T20s and Three ODIs which are to be played in England till 17th of July. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has introduced some new faces while dropping some skilful cricketers.
Some new faces like Washington Sundar, Siddarth Kaul, and Ambati Rayudu have been involved in the team for the upcoming series against England. Surprisingly, Ajinkya Rahane who has been very affirmative in the ODIs has been left out due to his bad form and consistency in South Africa earlier this year.
KL Rahul, Ambati Rayudu, and Siddarth Kaul have been considered for the British tour as all of them are performing brilliantly in current Indian Premier League, they have impressed everyone with their performances that is the reason they have been given a chance to showcase their talent overseas.
Suresh Raina and Manish Pandey will continue to feature in the shortest formats of the game, while Umesh Yadav the Indian speedster has been brought back due to his marvellous performance in IPL 2018. Whereas pacers like, Jaydev Unadkat and Shardul Thakur have been ignored for the T20 games.
The No.1 side in the ODI rankings will definitely want to repeat their performance of their last tour when they won the 5 match ODI series by 3-1. India has been performing very well in overseas as they beat South Africa in South Africa earlier in January.
Following their form and fitness, Ravichandran Ashwin and Jadeja again miss out from the team. God knows will they get a chance to represent Indian Cricket team in the test matches or not.
