Battle for Karnataka: EC launches investigation into RR Nagar flat

The Election Commission has directed the police and Karnataka’s top election officer to investigate the apartment located in Rajarajeshwari Nagar where over 9,000 electronic photo identity cards were hound on Tuesday.

Late last night the chief election officer Sanjiv Kumar recovered and seized 9,746 voter ID cards from Flat No. 115 at SLV Park View Apartment in Bengaluru’s Jalahalli area, one of the 223 constituencies where voting will be held on the weekend. Both BJP and Congress have been accusing each other’s members of owning the flat.

A BJP delegation, led by Union Minister Sadanand Gowda, is meeting the CEO on Wednesday on this issue.
