Singer Sona Mohapatra has reported that she has received a threat from the Madariya Sufi Foundation to take down her latest music video from all platforms.
She reported the threat to the Mumbai police through tweets and among the series, in one of them she said that the last time she received the threat, the police was of no help. This time, however, the police have been prompt in responding and have initiated an investigation without wasting any time.
Her latest track ‘Tori Surat’ has invited threatening emails from the Sufi organization. Besides the tweet, the singer has also sent a letter to the Santacruz police station in Mumbai.
The foundation has termed the singer “a regular offender” and states that the singer disobeys the rules set by their foundation depicting Sufi art and culture.

The last time I shared my phone number with the @MumbaiPolice was when I was getting rape, mutilation, death & acid attack threats during the Salman controversy. I am sorry to say that no real help or remedy came my way sir, @CPMumbaiPolice . Thankful I am safe despite the same.
