Benedict Cumberbatch: Sachin Tendulkar will fit the role of ‘Doctor Strange’

Date:

Our very own Sherlock, Benedict Cumberbatch, was reported as saying that Indian cricketing icon Sachin Tendulkar would fit the role of superhero Doctor Strange quite well.

Notably, the actor plays the Marvel superhero in the movie of the same name, which was released back in 2016. Cumberbatch apparently spoke about it when he met former Australian cricket sensation, Brett Lee during the ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ press tour in Singapore.

When asked about cricket, Cumberbatch was reported by IANS as saying, “Graham Gooch was my hero when growing up. I loved playing cricket and because I was a wicket keeper, I had my eye on Jack Russell.”

At the event, Cumberbatch was asked for his views on who would best fit the role of Doctor Strange. To which, the actor replied as saying, “Sachin Tendulkar would do quite well in fitting the role as Doctor Strange as he is quite extraordinary.”

Benedict Cumberbatch plays the Doctor Strange, who is a wizard and holds the possession of Time Stone, one of the Infinity Stones that the villain Thanos is after.

The character will also be making an appearance in the upcoming ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ movie, which is scheduled to release on April 22.
