Another flat finish; Sensex closes at 34,450.75, Nifty at 10584.70

Equity benchmarks erased majority of mid-day gains to finish flat. The 30-share BSE Sensex closed at 34,450.77, up 35.19 points while the broader 50-share NSE Nifty 50 rose 20.70 points to close finished slightly below 10,600.

The markets opened in the red on April 23, but recovered as Sensex gained almost 250 points, hitting the day-high of 34,663.95. The TCS stock surged as much as 4 per cent in intra-day trade, making it the first company to breach the $100 billion market capitalisation milestone. However, it ended session a tad lower than the last session.
