Namo’s Bharat Ki Baat in London

After spending a day in Stockholm, Sweden, attending ten high-level meetings in ten hours, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached the UK on Wednesday for a four day visit.

PM Modi, is in London to attend the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting. During this meeting PM will be attending bilateral as well as multilateral meetings with different heads of states.

According to a Downing Street spokesperson, Britan’s Prime Minister welcomed Prime Minister Modi of India to Downing Street for bilateral talks. Theresa May and Prime Minister Modi discussed the chemical weapons attacks in Salisbury and Syria, expressing concern and making clear their opposition to the use of chemical weapons by any party in any circumstances.

Theresa May reiterated the UK’s position on Russia’s recent destabilising behaviour, underlined by the attack in Salisbury and the protection provided for the Syrian regime’s repeated use of chemical weapons against its people.

The leaders also discussed their shared priorities in the Indo-Pacific and committed to working more closely together to ensure it remained free and open.

Prime Minister Modi will be interacting with the Indian diaspora at a mega event titled ‘Bharat Ki Baat, Sabke Saath’, later this evening. The event will be broadcast live from the iconic Central Hall Westminster in London tonight. It will be aired on television at 9 pm IST.
